YMMV, but in practice — Zigbee works great for this use case.
TechCurious: Absolutely agree — I had the exact problem and solved it by reconfiguring the hub. Took me forever to find that parameter.

I've been using this for several years and it's been pretty solid. The notifications work well once you configure properly.
